Recipes, Pantry Staples & Culinary Necessities

The Kitchen at SHR — Recipes and Items No Kitchen Should Be Without

This is not the kitchen you clean before people come over. This is the one you apologize for—and then never actually fix. There’s flour on the counter. Something delicious in the oven, something waiting for you on the counter, always a nibble in the fridge. Nothing matches. It doesn’t need to.

What you’ll find here are the essentials—grouped the way they’re actually used. Each comes with a recipe, passed down and meant to be made.

Used often. Trusted completely. Never put away quite where they belong. As it should be.

For the Occasionally Domestic

We don't insist you know your way around a kitchen. Frankly, neither does everyone who claims to.

These are recipes for the enthusiastic, the occasionally inspired, and those who consider opening a bottle of wine an essential part of meal preparation.

Some are family favourites. Others came about because there was something in the pantry that needed using, and going to the shops seemed entirely unnecessary.
